. . Subject: Maybe I discovered why Ceasar was a 'god'. . . . . . He had to be a 'god' in order to manage the unmanageable: an empire. By being believed (falsely) as a god, the ordinary people where fooled into a sense of subjugation, making the empire more manageable ;). Meaning, it actually worked actually making Ceasar a 'god' ;) , since only gods do the humanly impossible ? He had to be a god, by being it he became it (not of course). Maybe if more people hadn't believed such a travesty - which to be honest they probably didn't - they might have risen up to demand justice. Is it a trend among Emperors to have their minions think of them as gods ? The chinese emperor did that, the Pharao (an emperor?) did that ... Kings often claim to rule by the say so of some god. The amount of times they actually claim to be gods I'm not certain of by any means.
