Please don't run for any public office soon, thanks. Countries are not like your backery on one corner, and your bike repair shop on the other corner. Understanding the trade in your own street doesn't scale to entire nations like that. Nations have many concerns. While the farmer does need to trade and people need to trade around, a nation can be and typically is a self-contained economic entity. That ruling classes are trying to change that doesn't mean that it should be the way they change it. The transnational ruling classes want to build a global empire, a one world state, obviously they are going to want a world where nations depend on each other for many things because the industries become badly distributed around the world. This is their power leverage against nations and democracy. That is one of the dangers a nation has to defend itself from. > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... Just keep on babbling like that and I can feel confident enough nobody would vote for you any time soon, nobody who likes an argument on content anyway. > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... > ... Capital can be brought under control, by handing investment power to a truly democratic Government, operating many funds. This will require a drastic re-organization of the state and election processes and Constitutions to make the state a real democracy that can handle that power at least a little better then the ravanous dogs of capitalism. Even the ancient Israelites got that far, they outlawed rent seeking loans, That is some 2500 years ago, and they even did that without having a proper state system. Capital is a natural element in larger society because trade is, and that brings in money, but its proper venue is not free trade but to be under the people's mass will. That issue is more pressing the less morally inclined a people is, it is a technical power-distribution fix for a moral problem that takes more time (say). --
