[...] It is hard to know what it true and false from this far away, because of all the vested interests that would possibly lie, and the problem that an opposition party however evil intended will always attempt to say bad things and champion the cause of the victims, to the degree that is true and to the degree necessary to gain ideological support. However, in terms of objective reform not intended to reward one sector over another, considder a system where the Government becomes an absolute objective peoples democracy under a strict set of rules that guide the process, nationalized finance that keeps the capitalists and their tyranical agents out, soil distribution for every Cuban an equal wealth of natural resources (of whatever kind) to make a life from (which is a system that requires constant maintenance, but should be better then other systems, it challenges people to make something from the raw resources by their own hand), and last but not least: all businesses - except tiny and upstarts - become internal democracies, ruled and group-owned by those working in them. Think it over ? A worked out model is already here: http://www.socialism.nl Castro said once that he wasn't an intellectual, but attempted to guess the motivations and intentions of those who (claimed they) are. In that case, Fidel should feel free to investigate my person, he'll probably conclude that I don't mean bad for Cuba (I hope), and am absolutely not with the capitalist, tyranical and war maniacal enemies of humanity. This brings me to th ereally important matter: does Cuba have 100.000.000 AK-47s to spare for a potential uprising in the western world against the capitalist bosses and corruption in general, if said corruption is going to strangle our political freedoms (as seems to be the goal of the ruling classes, as it always was of course, who is kidding who). Also need 3000 rounds per weapon, and a helmet, I guess that clothing and so on isn't as pressing an issue. We also need light artillery for starters. Since the ruling classes are still in control we can't have heavy artillery yet, but hopefully most/all armies in the world will choose our side and then we'll have their equipment. Then we of course also have won because who could challenge all that. We will win, because our goal is just, we are trustworthy, and even our enemies are safe in our hands once they have surrendered. It isn't my first choice to go to arms, my system has 4 main modes of struggle that are all fully peaceful, even while they include a true mass peoples constituting revolution (scheme #4, scheme 1 is buying fair trade, scheme 2 is setting up social investment funds that democratize companies after starter leaves, scheme 3 is peaceful political party organization, scheme 4 is a peaceful setting up of the new Government system within standing society and not even claim sovereingty until most people are in that system and want it to take over.) I argued the case for these schemes for years, up to now, nothing was done that needed to be done in the west. Therefore I fear the enemies will manage another world war and police state repression or occupations or whatever evil schemes they have (word has come out they want to kill some 80% of all people in the world, you better believe they are capable of such acts of evil, you better believe it.) This would require potentially an armed mass uprising of the people in a military sense, simply going to battle and win that battle. Then we can install political rights again, even for our enemies, such as freedom of speech and assembly. If we have won, there is very little to fear from our ideological enemies anyway. After that war we can install that true set of laws I talked about, which is so democratic that it can be changed into everything (although it does takes 5 years to change the Constitution I must admit.) In a mass peoples struggle and armies, we need light arms mostly. The heavy equipment can be build in 'liberated' areas (it would mostly be people taking over their own home soils, entrenching in and fighting any and all people-hostile 'evil' occupation forces.) Heavy equipment particularly big Russian tanks would be great, but we have not yet any way to store that, or an enemy to fight it. Anyway, hand carried anti tank weapons would also be great because if we are really going to fight conventional armies we will have to take out their tanks with ligthly trained troops having little or no heavy equipment. I suppose in the absence of even light arms we are down to hand made speers, kitchen knives and bowe and arrow, and whatever can be used. War is killing, hence we need weapons that will kill. It's not a picknick, it would only become one after the enemy surrendered. (I'm not joking, I wish I was. Everyone can see the war clouds, and the erosion of democracy in the west. One problem with Cuba is how to get the guns from there to over here and the USA ? This could very well end up being the final and perhaps most violent stretch of this 170 year war of the Reds (labor, democracy, freedom, liberté, egalité, fraternité, against the Whites who want tyranny and tend to misguide people. Our main enemy is, however, our own ignorance, it makes us shoot ourselves in the foot, and however small and powerless our enemies are they win if we do that too often. I'm sure (chest pounding alert) my site might help a little with that. Victory will be ours. The truth will win, the lie will be exposed and therefore die. Capitalism will fall, true scientific socialism and democracy will take over.)
